Just a simple guy trying to do cool things. I'm a self taught DIY kind of guy. Grew up working a farm every summer learning the value of fixing things over replacing them. Gained valuable skills. I'm not a mechanic by trade, but I work on my own vehicles (occasionally for family/friends). I'm not an appliance repairman, but learn how to fix my own appliances. I video myself doing this in hopes of inspiring others to do the same. Take a chance, learn something new and keep some of your hard earned cash in your own wallet!

Nice line-up of cars there! 👍😀
Small town parades are the BEST!!! 🤘🏼🇺🇸💪🏼
Good job made my day
Happy Independence Day.
That was soo AWESOME!!
Not in Britain, Labour. Is in charge.
That's awesome 👌
I wonder if this is the only thing he uses his truck for. 😆
Probably right? He’s in this parade every year. 🔥🇺🇸
Wet sand, various grades. I didn't see any base coat?
Lots of replies to answer these types of questions. Basically I hated this car and hated how the clear coat was peeling. This took me 30 minutes and it’s time I’ll never get back! Hahaha.
It's call a hub
Not when the camera is rolling it isn’t! Being a RUclipsr is harder than you think! I KNOW what it is, but for some reason when the camera rolls my brain fogs. 🤷🏼♂️
@@troysgarage I know it's like knowing your chain of command until a two star general is asking you in your face the information in your brain just goes somewhere 👍 I liked how on the screen it was telling the viewers it's called a hub I did the same thing I just had replaced mine Its hard to get the part when I could not remember the name 🤔 but alls fine now they can be a pain getting the hub loose from the knuckle and finding someone to press the bearing in.
Just tried this on my daughter’s 2005 Corolla as it revs inconsistently around 1100rpm. After three goes at this method it now idles smoothly on 800rpm. 😊
Glad this helped!
Great video! 👍😀
Thanks! 💪🏼
“They support me so I support them.” Works for both grease companies and your buddy after a night out at the bar
Keep your friends close - right? 😂😱
Another great video!
Just trying to stay ahead of you man! Your channel is killing it!!! Anyone reading this go sub @yourdieselspecialists - great stuff coming in from them!!!
Do you have a heater on behind you? What's going on here?!?
LOL. I’m THAT far behind on editing. 😬 Good news is I have content for DAYZZZZ!!!!!
How do you know the back bearings where right
Because I installed these before I posted the video. I had to be sure I wasn’t giving bad info (like in the previous video).
❤
Heck, yeah. been waiting for another video 😎👍
Vacations and weddings are cramping my release schedule. Lots of good stuff coming.
I understand @troysgarage life is a busy one
I have done this still my Toyota rpm very low when engine is hot the rpm drop low sound
Try cleaning your Mass Airflow Sensor (carefully) and try this reset again.
Took the knuckle to a shop and they removed/pressed my bearing/wheel hub for 60$
Nice!!!
I’ve had that happen on old bulbs after they deteriorate from temp etc
Pretty crazy. I’ll be much more careful with discolored bulbs in the future!
Hi there, I have 1980 bronco, 351 m engine. I would like to speak with you because I have a vacuum problem. How can I reach you?
Follow me on instagram and send me a message there. That’s the easiest way to reach me.
Hey man it’s better shape than that 66’ ya had, good one
It's an air-conditioning COMPRESSOR
Not when the camera is rolling it isn’t!!! Haha. Being a youtuber is harder than you think it would be. 🤷🏼♂️
I used vinegar or bleach to unclog it, it's much easier.
Lots of ways to do this.
Nice vid. Where are those mountains at 4 min 20 secs ,,, OMG beautiful
That’s the view from “Troy’s Garage” in Salt Lake City Utah. Fresh snow on the Wasatch Mountains that day.
That's why we wear gloves, goggles, respirator, chainmail, shin guards, a cup and make sure to anchor our safety harness to something... and of course, always stand on an electrostatic mat (in case of unexpected lightning)!!!
BwaHahaha, some viewers are VERY passionate about respirators. Any painting video if they see any moment with no mask they are quick to comment. Relax everybody. Sheesh! 🤷🏼♂️🤣
@@troysgarage Hindsight, I do wish I took more precautions. Framing most of my working life... inhaling treated lumber dust (the old GOOD kind) can't be good. Then about 5 years sanding leaded lettering enamel as a sign-builder... of course, sanding it perfect every coat, the rainbow snot was cool... but also, probably a bad idea!
For those stuck wheels, good kick... I found out get a spare wheel and use that to knock off the stuck tire.
Use whatever you can find. Dang rust! 🤨🤛🏼
Got one problem my little corolla doesn't sit at normal temp, it sits about halfway bcuz the thermostat is messed up. Does it matter if it is a little warmer then normal temp
Should be fine, but you ought to get that fixed. 😜
@@troysgarage that is wat I was trying to fix, wen the IAC was bumped out of wack. However still haven't gotten the thermostat done bcuz it's sitting under the alternator an my wife wants to jus take it to a mechanic, an I prefer working on diesels
You did this outside, on a windy day? Wouldn't that cause random debris to stick to the clear? I'm asking because I need to do something similar but no garage.
Yeah but read my replies to other comments. This will make more sense.
Cooked glass
You can bet that I'll be much more careful with any bulb that is discolored at all going forward!
I used to replace a ton of different bulbs from 1984-1996 and have had this happen so many times that I started using a shammy (real chamois leather) to grip them. I was told that the glass simply gets weak over time and forms microfractures on the surface making it easy to pop the vacuum at the slightest touch.
Well....... NOW you tell me! Hahahaha
Good thing you were wearing your safety glasses and gloves.
Good point! I do speak sarcasm, so I totally get it.
I have the same year model but a dodge. The bulbs get incredibly hot sometimes if you have some goofy grounds and as they cool they can explode, had it happen a couple of times
😳 makes sense though! This video was a few months ago, been fine ever since. More details in the full length video.
Wrap bulbs in 33 black electrical tape when removing. I've done this too many times to count.
Where was this trick 5 weeks ago when this happened? hahaha. Great tip, thanks! I'll share it in a future video.
Might soak that hand in some Epsom salt bath 🚿
This happened 5 weeks ago, it healed up nicely. I did soak it and used bandaids when working on stuff to help keep it clean. Let it "air out" over night.
No you just don’t know that old bayonet mount light bulbs corrode in the socket due to a bad lens seals. You ham fisted it and it broke in your hand. Wear gloves. 😊
"Ham Fisted" that's awesome! More to the story in the full video, bulb wasn't corroded in the socket. Just old and burned out. Defective!
Maybe factory pulled an extra strong vacuum during production?
Clearly something was wrong with it. No idea! Crazy!
That was odd as hell
RIGHT?!?!?! Crazy
I like using 2157 bulbs on my classic cars they are the exact same as 1157, but have a brighter filament for the stop/turn light.
Hi, same issue with my 2005 DGC, but can't find the said link assembly in my area 😢😢!
Yeah sadly I’ve heard this comment more and more lately. Seems common enough you’d think there would be an aftermarket one by now. Sorry!
@@troysgarage no worries! Recently laid off 6 months before retiring, I have plenty of time now to do a lot of projects at home. I just replaced my window motor and rear liftgate lift supports thanks for guys like you who shared their experiences and knowledge! 😉
Did u make a video of how u painted the silver Corolla?
No this one was always that color and luckily the clear coat was better than most Corollas we’ve owned.
how much did you pay for the cluster and where did you get it if i can ask
I don’t remember the price and honestly this was years ago. Inflation would make what I paid seem cheap unfortunately. Got all these parts from LMC Truck online. They do have a catalog they will send you for your model year truck. Pretty cool resource and decent pricing. Shipping gets expensive so buy all the parts you need in a single order to save the shipping costs.
@@troysgarage ok thanks
I’m only 5 mins in, but why not use a hand pump to get whatever gas you have out of the existing tank?
Why didn’t I think of that? Kidding I did think about it but that’s a lot less adventurous than risking it all.
That has happened to me before I feel your pain
That was pretty crazy! Luckily it healed up fine.
@@troysgarage yeah
Thanks for giving me a starting point. My old Triumph is giving me an issue, this gets me on track
Glad this helped. Save those old classics! 👌🏼
Everyone loves carnage!! Lol hope your thumb doesn't fall off.
Pretty sure I have some sort of super power now. Just no idea what it is yet. 🤷🏼♂️
@@troysgaragewe know the super power isn’t your racketball backhand 😂😂 jk jk that bulb was insane!
Hahaha, I could beat you at RB left handed bro! 😎
Your doing a good job love watching videos of someone actually taking the time to fix these old trucks wish I had one to work on myself keep up the good work and GOD BLESS
That means a lot. Thank you!!! 🙏🏼
Try the reverse safety switch at the tranny if it has one. Have a good one Troy!
